Joel had a restless sleep that night. He kept seeing Sonny's face before he shut the door on him. Hurt, confused, and something he could place. Betrayed? He couldn't believe that, from only knowing the boy for a few hours. Then again, he had been the first human he had met, so that could have installed some sort of trust in him. He tossed and turned in his bed while storm clouds churned above the apartment complex and lightning split the sky. Rain splat against the tarp he put up where the glass door had been smashed, and the sound resonated inside his skull like a marching band. He clamped his pillow over his head and tried to drown out the sounds and the image of Sonny alone in the rain. A particularly close strike of lightning illuminated his house and abruptly made his sit straight up, gasping like he was awakened from a nightmare.
"Dammit." He cursed throwing on a coat.
"Dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit." He swore his way out the door and down the stairs of the building until he saw the small alien lying on a bench. Joel's shoulders fell when he saw the boy shivering and his eyes began to sting. He was wrapped up in Joel's jacket, silver skin slick with rain and tears, and nearly frozen from the cold. A horrible thought struck Joel when Sonny stopped shaking. What if he was cold-blooded? Would he die from being out in the weather? His thoughts were interrupted by the boys sharp full body shiver. He felt cruel and insensitive and every fiber of his being wanted to pick Sonny up and take him back inside. His arms slipped under the trembling boy and he held him protectively to his chest as he trudged up at his home. Kicking his door closed behind him, he placed Sonny on his bed and stripped himself of his damp clothes. He muttered to himself about the cost of now having two people to take care of, but when he looked back at the alien on his bed, he smiled. Sonny smiled in the thick blankets and curled himself around them. Joel threw a spare one over him and slipped under the comforter next to him. Even with the rain, thunder, and lightning, Joel slept soundly for the rest of the night.

"So kiss me agaaaaa-ain, 'cause only you can stop this st-st-st-st-stutterin'. Uh,,,, Kiss me agaa-a-ain, and ease me su-su su-su su-su su-su-su-sufferin'..." Tavros sang along with the music from his Husktop. He was such a romantic. "Oh Gamzee, kiss me aaga-a-ain!" he improvised. Last night had been pretty much perfect. Tavros had confessed how he felt; Gamzee had confessed he felt the same. They both stared at each other waiting for something to happen. Like they would magically be drawn like magnets, and they totally were. It was like when they were first drawn together when they were little grubs. Fireworks went off.

Copper Miracles 6
He was going to die.
At least that's what Tavros kept thinking as Gamzee guided him down the dark streets of Skaia. As the clown rolled Tavros to wherever he had planned, the boy tensed up and gripped the armrests. He shouldn't be freaking out. It's just Gamzee. It's just the bot that saved his life little more than a week ago. Tavros took a shaky breath, trying to calm his self down. When the chair hit a stray pebble on the road, Tavros jumped with a small squeak and his thoughts quickly reverted to his impending doom. He was going to die in a horrible, painful death and he wouldn't be found until days later and- why is Gamzee laughing?
